Nora Ephron Dead at 71

Did you ever use the phrase “I’ll have what she’s having?” I know I have and I haven’t even see all of the 1989 film When Harry Met Sally. But, I have certainly seen the famous scene over and over in clips through the years. Well, if you’ve ever used that phrase, you have Nora Ephron to thank for it. Groupon Snags Edward Norton

I’ve written before about Edward Norton in my Green Celebrity series. This week, Groupon, the deal-of-the-day website, announced that it is teaming up with Norton for an Earth Day challenge. When the Oscar nominations were announced, I noticed that one of the documentaries was If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front. I’d like to see this before the Oscars on February 26th, but it’s doubtful I will be able to. … Continue reading

Celebrities Supporting the Natural Resources Defense Council

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) offers me the best of both worlds. The NRDC, founded in 1970, uses “law, science and the support of 1.3 million members and online activists to protect the planet’s wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.” It was named one of America’s 100 best charities by Worth Magazine and the Better Business Bureau says NRDC has a high standard for accountability and making good use of its … Continue reading
