Remember Kristy Lee Cook from season seven of “American Idol?” The country singing Seattle native made to the Top 24, but she was repeatedly berated by the judges and often found herself in the bottom three before she was finally eliminated in seventh place. American Idol Accused of Racism

The newest season of “American Idol” kicked off with last year’s judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez being replaced with the feuding Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. While some may be talking about the rotating judges, a new controversy has arisen.  Nine former “American Idol” contestants – all African American males – are suing the show, claiming that they were kicked off the show as a part of a racist plot. Reality star Kim Kardashian and PETA have tangled in the past due to her love of real fur. So, when I read the other day that Kardashian had been pelted on the Red Carpet last Thursday with a bag of flour, I just assumed someone from PETA was behind it. Groups Campaign Against Canadian Seal Hunt

This year, the Canadian government has set the quota for its yearly seal hunt higher than ever. The Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) set the quota at 468,200 harp, Grey, and hood seals. That is an increase of almost 150,000 from last year. Why would people want to kill the seals? There are a lot of products that can be made from seals such as fur coats, bags, and clothing, but still others want them for the meat, oil, blubber and even seal oil for the making of some omega-3 pills.
