Teens Turning Green

Sometimes I think all the young people of today think about is cell phones, video games, and iPods, then I read about an organization like Teens Turning Green and I have renewed hope for the future. Teens Turning Green is a student-run organization that helps other teens go green. That is, not just become more aware of environmental issues, but also green up their own lives by living a healthier lifestyle. Student Loans Waived for Green Jobs?

If you have ever gone to college, you know it ain’t cheap. But, the state of Connecticut is trying to institute a new approach to helping students out – green students that is. There is legislature in Connecticut now that could waive student loans of those seeking degrees or certificates in green careers. Other states that have been in need of certain types of professions, such as doctors, nurses, and teachers, have waived student loans in the past in lieu of the students promising to practice in that state for a certain amount of time after graduation. Reading to Baby

I know how important it is to read to a child every day. I went to college to be a teacher. The importance of reading out loud to children on a regular basis was drilled into my head. I know that it improves a child’s vocabulary, helps them speak and write correctly, and teaches them the mechanics of reading and writing (reading/writing left to right, top to bottom, etc.), to name a few.
